After a simple conversation with a few friends back in 2015, “ Strike for Education”, a Celebrity Charity bowling event, conceptualized as a way for L’Union Suite and several influencers and celebrities to leverage their influence for the greater good of students in Cap-Haitien, Haiti.
A night of fun and purpose, and with the help of amazing sponsors, “Strike for Education” has allowed L’ Union Suite to actualize their dream of opening a computer resource center in Cap-Haitien, Haiti. And on April 30, 2018, the 1st L’ Union Suite Technology and Innovation Lab opened its doors at College Bell Angelot where young men and women between grades 7th through 12th grades gained access to 15 Computers, internet and a flood of resources at the schools newly installed center. The lab itself is a resource center for the students as well as the community.
The success of the center in Cap-Haitien was part of the many successes L’ Union Suite and various partners have experienced since starting “Strike for Education”. Prior to L’ Union Suite’s independent venture L’ Union Suite has partnered with many organizations in the years leading to the opening of the center. Some of those partners include:
Fleur De Vie, a nonprofit organization that works with and supports the initiatives of struggling nonprofit organizations whose mission is to implement social change in their communities in Haiti. We partnered with the company in 2015 and assisted in their back to school program which assisted over 600 students in Port-au-Prince prepare for school.
Edifye, a non-profit agency working to empower local communities to improve economic conditions in Haiti. Their mission is to combat the cycle of poverty in Haiti, through education, empowerment, and partnerships. In 2016 we assisted in raising funds for Edifye’s scholarship program that went go towards funding one-year tuition for more than 100 students in Haiti.

Institut Sacré Coeur du Cap-Haitien (ISCCH), established in 2001 is an academic institution where students can attend school from the 1st grade to 13th grade (Elementary School to High School) and even go to professional/technical school. Founded by Urlande Etienne and Jean Dorvil Etienne, the married couple always had a dream, to build a school together as this was God’s purpose in their lives. The school first opened with one location at 90 Rue 14 D, Cap- Haitien with a little over 400 students. As the years passed, the school kept on expanding by adding two more locations to provide more service to the community.
Therefore, each location is dedicated to the 3 different academic sections, Rue 14 M for 1st to 6th grade, Rue 14 D for 7th to 13th grade and Rue 8 A for the professional/ technical school. Rue 14 D, the original location remains nowadays the central school campus as it is between both locations and as it brings the school together in one place. Some of the activities hosted by the school every year are blood donation, city clean up, reforestation day, educational field trips, and a career fair where the students partake on executing low- income/small jobs to make the student value and respect every job. Other cultural activities that the school engage in the city of Cap-Haitien are a carnival and the Haitian flag day parade where the students march in the streets to show their patriotic pride.
